Dragonflies

These Mosquito-eating flying machines are visitors to the GardenGrapevine Bog.
This one is perched on a rusty 3/8" steel stake.
 
 
 

This fellow seemed to have a favorite spot which he used as a lookout and tanning booth. If a potential meal came within his line of sight it was caught and consumed. But if a competitor wandered into "his territory" it was given a quick and determined escort to other places. 

Then he would return to his favorite spot on this warm rock to resume his vigilance in the giant universe where he faithfully performed his mandate to protect and perpetuate his ecosystem and our own.
